“Learning to Play Better Golf Is a Commitment”
As a PGA teaching professional since 1996, I am committed to helping you achieve a greater enjoyment of the game. Whether you are just being introduced to the game or training for high level tournament play, I can help you realize your golfing goals.
I believe that a strong emphasis should be placed on the importance of pre-swing fundamentals. The proper grip, aim, stance, balance, posture, alignment and ball position is the foundation and basis of any good golf swing.
Educating the student on the how’s and why’s and not just the do’s and dont’s is fundamental to my philosophy. Understanding the cause and effect relationships that occur with your golf swing will help you become a better player sooner. The more knowledge you have, the better equipped you are to handle the challenges of this game.
People learn new tasks differently. As your instructor, it is my responsibility that you understand the message in the most concise method possible. There are three forms of learning: HEAR IT, SEE IT, FEEL IT. Understand that the fastest way for you to improve is to stimulate all three forms of learning; auditory, visual and kinesthetic.
Swing development or change requires practice along with professional guidance to keep you on the path to better golf. Practicing correctly with prescribed swing drills will help ensure this is accomplished. Practice creates repetition and repetition brings about change.
Communication between the student and the instructor is essential. Feedback from you is expected regarding your thoughts, feelings and understanding of what we are doing.
I believe there is no one particular way to swing a golf club. Strength, flexibility, body type, and athletic ability, along with determination and desire, are important components that will allow you to become the best golfer you can be. I can help you achieve your goals.
