Women amateur golfers descended on Bartley Cavanaugh to compete in this prestigious event
While the Mens Amateur State Fair Championship battled it out at Haggin Oaks, the Womens Amateur State Fair was held at Bartley Cavanaugh over the weekend. Amateurs from all over California and beyond gathered at Bartley Cavanaugh to win the title of State Fair Champion.
The final group came on strong with fighting for every stroke on every hole. This tournament featured great competition from a foursome that had a large gallery watching on every hole.
The last foursome on Sunday consisted of Erica Villegas, Sophia Lee, Tori James, & current reigning champion Sienna Lyford.
After two days of great golf, one golfer stood above the rest. Shooting 6 under with a score of 69-69 for a total of 138, Erica Villegas was crowned the winner of the 29th Womens State Fair Championship.
Erica is a Senior at Vacaville High School playing on the Girls Golf Team. She has committed to attend University of San Francisco next fall where she knows she can make a difference.
Continued good luck to Erica in her golfing future!
