The 71st annual city Junior Easter golf championship was held at Bing Maloney golf course on March 30 and 31st. Spring weather welcomed juniors from all over northern CA, where each player teed off for a chance at the overall champion title.
The tournament was open to juniors ages 7 to 18. Juniors 7 to 11 played nine holes medal play each day on the Bing Maloney Express Nine golf course, and juniors 12 to 18 played 18 holes medal play each day on the Bing Maloney 18-hole golf course. After two full days of competition, two players came out on top.
Overall champion (boys) Zachary Pollo finished one under par with a fantastic second round score finishing with a total of 11 birdies (7 in the second round).
Overall champion (girls) Annika Cruz finished one over par! Cruz recently signed with Seattle U women’s golf team for its 2021 class starting this fall.
