Adaptive Golf Vehicles at Haggin Oaks

Adaptive Golf Vehicles are available for use at Haggin Oaks to allow those with limited mobility to enjoy the game of golf.

Here at Haggin Oaks, we are very passionate about helping as many people as possible enjoy the game of golf. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to do so regardless of their circumstances. We’re extremely happy to have Adaptive Vehicles available to assist riders with limited mobility.⁣ ⁣They can be reserved ahead of time when booking a tee time.

In the video above, it shows the two different types of vehicles that are available at Haggin Oaks. Each of them serves a different purpose that enables the rider to comfortably swing the club during the game. Each time we watch the players use them it touches our hearts to know that this small accommodation has such a huge impact in their lives.

The Northern California Institute of Golf at Haggin Oaks is Proud to Host Some of the Finest Adaptive Golf Programs in the Country! There are a few different programs that can be enjoyed such as PGA Hope, Golf for Health, and the California Eagles Program. Have you heard of these programs before? Well, here is more information on each of them.

The California Eagle program is held every Tuesday evening from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM between the months of April and September at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. The program originated in 1985, only having ten athletes participate. Currently, the program supports over 100 athletes annually, with varying special needs. The group is divided up into five smaller groups and rotate to different stations each week, learning all parts of the game. *Please note registration is through The First Tee of Greater Sacramento.

The Golf Fore Health Program, previously known as Saving Strokes (ran by the American Heart Association) consists of two nine-week sessions during the months of May, June, September, and October.  The class spends most of its time on the golf course (on Wednesday mornings from 10:45 AM to 12:15 PM), which makes the learning process even more fun and engaging.  Participants come to the class with varying experience, so whether you are a brand new golfer or one who has been playing for years there is a space for you!  *To register please call the Northern California Institute of Golf at 916-808-2531.

PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is a golf program for Veterans.  It falls under the PGA Reach umbrella, which is the charitable foundation of the PGA of America.  This is a six-week program in which Veterans of all abilities are welcome to join.  Weeks one through four are spent working on specific areas of the game (example: putting, chipping, pitching and full swing).  The remaining two weeks ae spent playing on course, with there being a luncheon after play on the sixth week.  *Please note registration is through the Northern California Section of the PGA.
