I love October. The temperature has finally started to drop, allowing me to open my windows at night and let in the lovely Delta breezes that Sacramento always graces us with. Summer was brutally hot this year. I think my air conditioner ran non-stop this summer and I am ready for some cooler days. The leaves are turning yellow, orange and red, and I can finally unpack my warm sweaters and start sipping hot cocoa in the evenings! I’m also big into decorating for Halloween – if you stop by my house on the 31st of October, you’ll find it covered in cobwebs (more than usual), ghoulish decorations and filled with lots of candy for the trick or treaters that always come calling!
Another reason that I love October is because Chef Blanca brings back her Pumpkin Pancakes in MacKenzie’s Sports Bar and Grille this month. Have you tried these yet? Nothing says fall like the delicious goodness of pumpkin and these pumpkin pancakes include two eggs and your choice of sausage or bacon. All for only $5.95! Yum!
