On Sunday, September 5th the California State Fair Women’s Golf Championship at Bartley Cavanaugh ended with a 3-way tie with Meghan Paracuelles, age 16, junior at Vista Del Lago High School & Victoria Gailey, age 21 a Senior at University of Nevada Reno & Anika Varma, 17 years old, Senior in Granite Bay HS, Varma is committed to the University of Oregon in 2022. All three players finished at six-under par 138’s for the event.
They all went to Hole #6 for the playoff hole and each player was right down the middle hitting the ball approximately 245 yards with approximately 90 yards to the hole.
Winning the hole & the tournament was Anika Varma who has moved to the US from India only 2 1/2 years ago to grow and challenge her golf career. Her Coach Noah Montgomery suggested this tournament as her mentor as he brings her stronger into the future.
