The Jubilee Course in Scotland has been buzzing lately, playing host to the St. Andrews Links Collegiate. This event brought together 24 talented men and women from the University of Arizona, University of St. Andrews, Howard University, and Northwestern University for a thrilling 36-hole stroke play showdown.

On the men’s side, Zach Pollo from the University of Arizona made his mark with a strong 68 on Tuesday, securing the title by two strokes. This victory is his second collegiate win, following a successful freshman campaign at the N.I.T. In round two, he navigated the front nine expertly, shooting a solid 2-under 33 with two birdies and seven pars. Maintaining his composure on the back nine, he finished even par, closing out the day with a comfortable three-stroke lead. A resident of Rocklin in Placer County, Zach is well-known in the local golf scene as well as a Morton Golf Foundation alumni.

In the women’s competition, Ashley Yun from Northwestern took home her first collegiate title with an impressive performance! On day one, she lit up the course, leading the pack with a stunning 69, featuring four birdies and just one bogey—talk about making a statement! Day two brought tougher conditions with swirling winds and dropping temperatures, but Ashley stayed focused and fired a solid 70 to clinch her victory. Over the two days, she only recorded two bogeys and dominated the par 5s, finishing an impressive 5 under for the tournament. What a spectacular place to earn your first collegiate win!
