Who are the faces behind “Team Relentless”? Andrew Guillen and Sean Woods from Folsom High School. Andrew and Sean are raising money for a high school student who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in the fall of 2015. His name is grant Sandy and he is the bravest young man you will ever hear of. He recently started to finish his chemotherapy process and just had his 18th birthday. 30 years ago, he would have had less than a 10% survival rate. With fundraisers like this, he is on the road to health. Our goal is to at least raise $50,000 so the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society gives us the opportunity to put a research grant, in Grant’s name! Cancer is starting to lose this battle!
LLS’s continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.
And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They’re even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They’ll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well. Be a part of the end to cancer forever!
