Kelli Corlett is the Junior and Disabled Golf Program Director for the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. She is our guest blogger today.
Junior Golf has become very popular within the past five to ten years. At Haggin Oaks we offer multiple programs to better improve golf skills, knowledge and understanding of the rules and etiquette. Our multitudes of programs consist of a Spring, Summer and Fall Playing League, Summer Camps, LPGA/USGA Girls Golf, Spring, Summer and Fall Saturday Class as well as our Year Round Junior Program. All children, ages 5 to 17 are welcome to participate.
Our Year Round Junior Program includes four, nine week sessions of instruction, as well as our Little Linker Summer Playing Program. Depending on the child’s age, they would either attend class on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for one hour. During these sessions, putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play and the full swing are discussed. Students are also taught the rules and proper etiquette, while having fun!
The Saturday Classes typically range from 12 to 20 participants. Beginners and intermediate golfers attend at different times; beginners start at 10:00 a.m. and intermediate golfers start at 12:00 noon. The goal for the intermediate class is to have the students ready to play the Arcade Creek Golf Course during the last two meetings of the nine week session.
Please come and join our group for fun, friends and much more! For any questions in regard to Junior Golf, please contact the Appointment Office at Haggin Oaks (916-808-2531).
