Since 2008, U.S. Kids Golf has named Master Kids Teachers to honor instructors for their ongoing efforts in growing the game of golf among kids. These individuals have earned the distinction of Master Kids Teacher by winning the Top 50 Kids Teacher Award three or more times. Being named a Master Kids Teacher is the highest honor an instructor can receive from U.S. Kids Golf.
Congratulations to Morton Golf’s Kelli Corlett for being one of a select few teachers to be awarded the U.S. Kids Golf 2018 Master Kids Teacher award. She received this award due to her exemplary commitment to the growth and development of youth golf.
“These coaches are honored as more than instructors,” explained Dan Van Horn, the President and Founder of U.S. Kids Golf. “They create outstanding opportunities for young golfers to learn in a fun and rewarding environment that instills a love for the game and engages the entire family. Their ability to connect with students and fully engage them in the learning process sets them apart.”
Kelli is the Junior and Disabled Golf Program Director for Morton Golf. She was born and raised in Sacramento, a 2005 Loretto High School graduate. At the age of six Kelli was introduced to the game of golf by her father. She played multiple sports growing up but ultimately decided on two sports that were her clear favorites: soccer and golf.
Throughout high school and college she continued with these two sports, playing on both her high school and college golf and soccer teams. She loved the team camaraderie of soccer, but also enjoyed the individual competition of golf. Kelli has been involved with The First Tee since the age of 12, not only as a participant, but as well as a coach for the past nine years. Because she appreciates team fellowship and individual success, Kelli will foster The Core Values of The First Tee in leading the junior and disabled golf programs at Haggin Oaks.
Having a mother that was an educator for 25 years fueled Kelli’s passion to learn. While at Dominican University of California, located in San Rafael, she graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Sports Management. In May of 2010, Kelli furthered her education by earning a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Global Management.
Kelli’s enthusiasm toward children, sports and helping others makes this a perfect opportunity for her to further her career ambitions in one of the sports she loves. She will be leading all of Morton Golf junior and disabled golf programs that include, but are not limited to, associations with Saving Strokes, The First Tee of Greater Sacramento, PGA, LPGA, Special Olympics, Latino Junior Golf Association, and many more.
