The PGA Merchandise Show is the industry’s leading golf show, known as the “MAJOR of Golf Business” and it is the best place in the country to discover the newest technologies, trends and products in golf equipment. The 2017 PGA Merchandise Show will be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL and runs from January 24 through January 27.
Morton Golf will be sending their coalition of buyers and head golf professionals to this annual event. Our attendees will be sending back photos, experiences and commentary on the new products that will be released in 2017. Celebrity guests scheduled to make an appearance include Colin Montgomerie, Annika Sorenstam, Bubba Watson, Jesper Parnevik, John Daly, Hank Haney, David Leadbetter and many more.

It’s day 2 of the “MAJOR of Golf Business” – otherwise known as the 2017 PGA Merchandise Show. Highlights from the show floor yesterday included a focus on charity. PGA Professionals raise close to $4 billion annually for charitable organizations. That is an impressive number.
Tiger Woods made industry news with TaylorMade’s announcement that he has joined their company’s tour staff. Tiger Woods is arguably the most well-recognized name in golf and the 14-time major champion is in San Diego this week competing in the Farmer’s Insurance Open.
Titleist launched their new Pro V1 golf balls, 917 drivers and fairways and the new Scotty Cameron putter line yesterday as well. Morton Golf is giving away a dozen of the new Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls each day on this blog (through Friday, January 27, 2017). Today is the PGA Show Demo Day which is held at the Orange County National Golf Center and runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm. This massive demo day is the largest one in the world and close to 10,000 PGA Professionals are expected to visit today’s event. How many golf balls will be hit? The estimate is close to a million. This unique driving range features a 42-acre circular driving range and vendors will be set up completely around the circle. Some of our team will be attending this event and the rest will be gaining insight at the AGM Orlando Retail Conference which features a full day of retail related educational topics. Stay tuned!

3:15 PM –Â Tough Lie 360 is on display at the Demo Day. If you are looking for a new way to practice your golf game, this 360 degree mat lets you turn it (you guessed it, 360 degrees) in order to practice your swing on uphill lies, downhill lies and more. It was added to the driving range at Haggin Oaks less than two weeks ago. – SW

1:30 PM – Bing Maloney Golf Course is thinking of adding a Covershot mobile canopy to their driving range. It would provide shade during the heat of the summer. What are your thoughts on this? – AW
12:45 PM – Do you want to know how big a 42-acre driving range is? Check out this shot showing the circular range at today’s demo day, which is hosted at the Orange County National Golf Center. It is easy to see how this range is the “Largest Driving Range in the Nation.” I only wish we had a driving range this big during the annual Golf Expo that we host at Haggin Oaks. 10:52 AM – Tom Morton flew in earlier than the rest of the team. On Sunday, he attended the National PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit where he was learning from the best coaches from around the world. He spent 2-days gathering tips and information to help with the constant pursuit of becoming a comprehensive golf coach. -TM
