“The Morton Golf staffs at Haggin Oaks, Bing Maloney, Bartley Cavanaugh and Morton Golf Sales sincerely thank you for your patronage throughout the year but most of all wish you and your loved ones the Happiest of Holiday Seasons. We look forward to seeing you out on the links throughout the New Year.” – Ken Morton Sr
With the passing of another year, this is the perfect time for Morton Golf to thank everyone for their continued support throughout the year. Each and every one of you are important to us and we truly treasure and cherish our relationships that continue to be built with our staff, our customers and with the City of Sacramento. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Looking back at 2017, we definitely saw our fair share of rain at the beginning of the year. The good news is that the rain significantly improved the drought that had been plaguing the Sacramento valley… even if the rain wasn’t ideal for golfers trying to play during a soggy winter.
The Bing Maloney Golf Complex improved the Championship 18 Golf Course after the winter of 2017 brought about unexpected course closures due to old drainage pipes that werenât able to move the water fast enough off the golf course. This past summer, the facility was improved for the possibility of another wet winter by replacing the drainage pipe that runs along most of the front 9 of the Championship 18 Golf Course.
This coming winter, Bing Maloney will be well prepared to get the rain and ground water off the course faster than ever before. An 18â pipe has been installed that will transfer water from the golf course and out to the pump on hole #5 to remove it from the course. We donât anticipate experiencing flooding or course closures in 2018 and beyond.
Bing Maloney also saw a huge facelift to their driving range with the addition of a cover for the driving range. Golfers will now enjoy less fatigue, less risk of heat stroke or heat exhaustion and less exposure to harmful UV rays while staying out of the direct sunlight and under the shade during the summer. No need to worry about possible inclement weather either as the new driving range cover will protect from both sun and rain.
As we look ahead into 2018, we continue to look at ways to improve the facilities and experiences for Sacramento golfers. In 2018, look forward to a new food truck out on the Haggin Oaks Driving Range. We have big plans to create a welcoming environment for golfers of all ages to come out to enjoy the range and food offerings! Morton Golf has purchased a new food truck – we’ll have it prepped and wrapped soon. The new menu will certainly make your mouth water too!
