Kyle Scoby, representative for Wilson Golf, talks to ESPN Radio 1320’s Golf to Go with Frank LaRosa about the new conforming grooves on Wilson’s forging irons. PGA Touring Professional Padrid Harrington plays the FG Tour with its slight perimeter weighting and Golf Digest named this iron a Hot List winnter. Meanwhile, the FG 62 irons are intended for better players who like a traditional blade. The FG 62 is a classic Wilson muscleback iron with a slightly larger head than older versions.
Kyle also talks about the new FG Tour 3-piece urethane golf ball. This softer ball allows the ball to compress more against the face of the club and have more groove interaction and thus, more spin. This ball is created to counteract the new USGA groove rules which promote less spin, especially out of the rough.
Have you tried the new Wilson FG Tour Urethane ball or new Wilson irons? What did you think?
