Back-to-Back Professional Tournaments are going to be Played at Ozarks National and Buffalo Ridge
BRANSON, MISSOURI, â Branson Golf continues its place at the epicenter of thriving U.S. golf destinations this month, when the PGA TOUR Champions hold two tournaments at Big Cedar Lodge. These marquee events continue Bransonâs ascension as one of Americaâs fastest-growing and most-compelling places to play the grand game.
The Charles Schwab Series at Bass Pro Shopsâ Big Cedar Lodge will feature back-to-back 54-hole tournaments played over a nine-day period, each event carrying a $3 million purse and televised globally on GOLF Channel. The Charles Schwab Series at Buffalo Ridge will take place Aug. 19-21 at the Buffalo Ridge Course, with the Charles Schwab Series at Ozarks National to follow on Aug. 24-26.
Ernie Els, Fred Couples, Steve Stricker, John Daly, and Vijay Singh are some of the icons scheduled to compete in the tournaments.
The venues represent two of the five exceptional golf courses at Big Cedar Lodge, which has been âHome of the Legendsâ after previously hosting the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf from 2014 through 2019.
âBranson and Big Cedar Lodge are an ideal destination for the PGA Champions Tour legends to play,â said Lynn Berry, Branson CVB Director of Communications. âAs the Legends of Golf showed, Big Cedar courses provide the worldâs greatest players with thrilling courses worthy of testing their first-class games.â
Big Cedarâs five courses join five other Branson courses in comprising a diverse yet complementary collection of courses, all near one another, and all open to the public. Four of the 10 courses â Ozarks National, Buffalo Ridge, Branson Hills and LedgeStone â are rated in Missouriâs Top 10, including capturing the top three places. Further, Ozarks National and Buffalo Ridge were rated among Americaâs 100 Best Public Courses, a rare distinction considering there are roughly 13,500 public courses.
âWe hope everyone watches the PGA TOUR Champions tournaments on Golf Channel, because theyâll see how spectacular the courses are,â said Berry. âTheyâll be inspired to come play golf in Branson, and weâre ready to welcome them with several months of great golf weather remaining.â
