Rishan Dey Has A Vision Of Playing On The PGA TOUR When He Grows Up

Any day of the week, Rishan Dey and his brother, Sid, can be seen playing golf at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. This week, July 5th & 6th, both boys played in the Sacramento City Junior Championship “Peggy Dodds Memorial” Junior Golf Tournament.

Both brothers have played in “Little Linkers” golf programs at Haggin Oaks, which is available to boys and girls ages 7 +. For more “Little Linkers” information, contact the Northern California Institute of Golf inside the Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop or call (916)808-2531.

Rishan, now eight years old, has been playing golf for the past two years. His first attraction to the game was through his older brother Sid. Rishan thought the game looked fun and he was hooked after hitting his first shot. He learned the fundamentals of the game from Coach Chris Staples and Coach Alex Cooper at the Northern California Institute of Golf at Haggin Oaks.

Rishan plays US Kids purple / Tour Series clubs, and his golf ball of choice is a Callaway Chrome Soft triple track.

His biggest golf highlight was last year at Haggin Oaks on Hole #5 while playing in a “Little Linkers” golf tournament. He pulled out his Driver and almost drove the green!

Rishan hopes someday to be a Professional PGA TOUR player. After he retires, his dream job would be a Club Pro at Pinehurst Resort at one of their nine signature golf courses.

Every day when Rishan gets dressed to go to any golf course, he always wears long pants (just like the Pros). He never forgets to wear his “lucky” white NIKE belt, which wraps around his waist twice. When he feels he needs to slow down and hit a perfect shot, he takes a deep breath and visualizes the next golf shot in his mind.

We will continue to look for Rishan and Sid Dey playing in junior golf tournaments and watch for their names on the Leaderboard.

Continued good luck in your golf careers!
