Join us for Saving Strokes on April 13, 2011. Saving Strokes is a program that uses golf as a rehabilitation tool for people who have had strokes. The event pairs stroke survivors with golf professionals who have been trained to work with people with disabilities. Family members are encouraged to attend. To sign up, contact Jennifer Halldorson at the American Heart Association at (916)-446-6505 or click HERE to send her an email.
Saving Strokes began in Sacramento in 2001 with only 26 participants, and we are expecting 200 participants at Haggin Oaks for the 2011 event! More than half of the stroke survivors who participate in this event have had no prior golf experience – this is an opportunity to have fun and for physical rehabilitation. This event is open to all ages, skill levels and stages of rehabilitation.
