Scoring in the Short Zone Putting Boot Camp with Don Pottle

Don Pottle has been teaching at Haggin Oaks for 18 years and brings his many years of teaching experience to two group lesson programs at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex – Scoring in the Short Zone Putting Boot Camp as well as a Boot Camp geared to improve your Short Game. Frank LaRosa with Golf to Go on ESPN 1320 sits down to talk with Don on his upcoming classes for 2014.

These group classes will have a maximum of 8 students per class. The class will focus on the fundamentals of setup, path of the golf club, impact, and speed. These are the four elements that are required for putting. And since putting represents forty percent of your score, this is a part of your golf game that you don’t want to neglect. If you can improve your putting, you can improve your score the quickest on the course.

After concentrating on your putting, you should work on your short game to reduce your score. From the edge of the green to about the next 30 or 40 yards out represents another 25 percent of your score. Therefore, if you can shave some strokes off your game here, then you can also lower your score on your next round.
