With so many acts performing, each artist only has the opportunity to perform a few songs during Golf & Guitars. After Julie’s performance, you’ll certainly want to hear more! Therefore, I invite you to come to Rocklin on Wednesday, May 18th, when Julie Roberts performs for a small, intimate gathering at Breen Elementary School (2751 Breen Drive Rocklin, CA 95765).
This benefit concert raises funds for the Accelerated Reader (AR) program at Breen Elementary School in Rocklin. California schools have been hard hit by recent budget cuts and library funds are one of the first items on the chopping block. According to Chuck Thibideau, principal for Breen Elementary, “The Accelerated Reading Program helps students choose high interest books that are challenging and cause them to become more successful readers. Student motivation to read and overall academic growth is bolstered by the AR Program. Our students can’t wait to get to the library each week to choose their AR books and meet their reading goals.”
Tickets are on sale now: $25 for adults and $10 for children with 100% of the net proceeds benefiting Breen’s Accelerated Reader program. Perhaps best known for her smash hit “Break Down Here”, from her self-titled debut album, Roberts recently revealed on her blog that she is also putting the finishing touches on her third album. This will be the first new music from her in close to five years. As Roberts reveals, “My tentative plan is to have my record ready by Memorial Day weekend to sell at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and on iTunes of course!” Here’s hoping that she’ll be performing some of her new music during Breen Elementary’s fundraiser on Wednesday, May 18th too!
Roberts adds, “I am SO, SO excited about this new video I’m working on and also about my new record. I’ve put in years of work on these projects and I hope you LOVE THEM like I do!!!”
