What does the wear pattern on your glove mean? Having the correct grip is one of the most important fundamentals because it is the one attachment we have to the golf club. Everyone wears there glove in different ways. But some wear marks can be a sign of an incorrect grip. Ever wear your glove out in the pad of your palm? This means the golfer isn’t gripping their club toward their fingers. This also means the golfer has a tendency to fade/slice the ball and potentially lose distance. Gloves wear the quickest this way regardless of the quality you buy, sometimes even as quick as 2 holes. Refer to the picture that represents the correct way to grip the club. A wear in the thumb can represent poor grip pressure, poor thumb placement, or repositioning your grip in the swing. Try loosening your grip tension a little bit or adopt a “short thumb in the grip”. Refer to the picture about thumb placement on the golf club. To book a lesson please call the Golf Concierge at 916-808-2531.
