For the past 7 years Morton Golf Foundation has sponsored this event and it has always been one of our favorites.
Over 250 Special Olympics Athletes plus 50 volunteers arrived by 8:00 a.m. to celebrate friendship, team spirit and golf.
The event was kicked off with the Opening Ceremony with the Athletes reciting the Special Olympics creed and ending by Morton Golf Foundation President Tom Morton announcing âLet the games beginâ.
This is an annual event where the Athletes compete in either golf skills at the back of the driving range or a leisurely 9 holes of golf for competition.
We see the athletes come from all over Northern California and parts of Nevada. No Special Olympic Athlete ever has to pay for anything. Our amazing sponsors make sure the athletes are never turned away from participating in any activity.
The day ended with everyone high in spirit as each Athlete walked away with a metal.
