Annie Murphy has been a Volunteer Player Assistant for approximately 4 years at Haggin Oaks.
Before retiring, just 5 years ago and joining her volunteer position she worked at the Sacramento County District Attorney Crime Lab for 25 years. She then changed careers to be a “Wine Ambassador” for the Boisset Collection representing 27 wineries between Napa, Sonoma & Burgandy France.
Today, she is enjoying her retirement playing golf and being active with a new on-line business she just created called Helmet Diva. You can view her creations on www.helmetdivia.com for all your accessories for your bike/ski helmets, bicycles, back packs, etc.
When Annie is not volunteering, she can be seen mountain biking in Sacramento on the American River Parkway enjoying the many beautiful days in Northern California.
Since the age of 11 Annie has been playing the game of golf that her parents taught her to enjoy.
Her first professional golf lesson was when she started to volunteer at Haggin Oaks.
Annie also enjoys traveling worldwide. Her travels last week took her to Mammoth, California. While she was there, she took the opportunity to snow ski one day and mountain bike the next day around Convict Lake. While biking a lady stopped her to comment how she liked the flower that was attached to her bike helmet. It gave Annie a chance to talk about her new business with all the accessories for helmets. On her 3rd day she kayaked around Gull Lake enjoying the serenity and beautiful scenery.
What a wonderful way to enjoy her retirement.
When Annie greets you on the First Tee at Haggin Oaks she makes all of us feel like this is exactly where we should be at that exact time.
