Please meet Daniel Cooper, Tournament Coordinator a Haggin Oaks Golf Complex.
Daniel Cooper has been a Tournament Coordinator on the Arcade golf course for the past 8 months. His job position entitles being the Player Assistant Manager with the Rovers and Greeters. He is a crucial part of the 3-person Tournament Team with Soleil Gutchess, Tournament Director and Kristan Schoel, Tournament Coordinator on MacKenzie Golf Course.
Before coming to work at Morton Golf, Daniel was an Auditor with Pinnacle Accounting & Financial Services in Sacramento. Daniel is a 2020 college graduate of Chapman University in Orange County with a degree in Finance and Accounting.
Daniel has been an avid golfer since his youth. His older brother, Alex (a past employee of Morton Golf) was taking lessons at the age of seven and his parents had Daniel hitting plastic golf clubs next to Alex. Daniel quickly picked up the game with Alex and to this day they still play a competitive round of golf when they are in the same Country.
The Cooper family moved from the UK to Marin County near San Francisco when Daniel finished his sophomore year of High School. Today, Daniel still has a European accent and tells us when he moved to the United States the biggest cultural difference was thinking before you spoke because he always wanted to make sure he was saying the current catchphrase.
Daniel can be seen on and off the course any time during his workday. His office is in the Pro Shop near the radios where the volunteers check in each day.
When Daniel is not in his office solving a problem or helping put on a tournament he can be seen playing golf on any golf course in our Greater Sacramento area.
His other interests and hobbies are watching soccer and hiking.
In his spare time, Daniel is currently in the process of completing Level 1 of 3 levels for his PGM (Professional Golf Management) program. Last summer he passed the 36-hole PAT (Players Ability Test) on the golf course with impressive scores of 73 & 70. His future goals will be to lean toward the Golf Operations side when all three levels are completed.
We wish Daniel good luck as he continues his golf career at Morton Golf.
There are a wide variety of golf opportunities in Daniel’s future!
