Morton Golf Foundation Volunteer Comes Full Circle
Richie Gibbs has been a volunteer since he was 3 years old. At any Haggin Oaks Golf Expo, he could be seen hitting balls as spectators admired his swing.
Richie Gibbs was also one of the first Morton Golf Foundation volunteers since its beginning in 2009. He has been at every event that he was asked to volunteer at & continues his volunteerism into adulthood. Not only was he one of the first volunteers, but he is also one of the best. In 2019 he won Morton Golf Foundation Volunteer Of The Year.
Richie is a 2020 graduate of Granite Bay High School. Following high school he enrolled at Folsom Lake College & was on their golf team. After finishing his 2 years there he is now enrolled in University of Arizona online college & this coming fall will be a senior majoring in business.
Richie has been taught & coached by his dad starting at age 2 when he could hold on to a club. He has 2 older brothers Peter & Alex, who are great role models for Richie both on and off the course.
Richie is also in the process of completing his PGA status of Teaching Pro. He is working toward that goal as he is employed at Morton Golf.
Most days Richie can be seen selling equipment in the Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop, teaching lessons on the driving range, or giving a fitting in the Player Performance Studio when a golfer is interested in purchasing clubs. We continue to wish Richie Gibbs the best in his day-to-day golf career at Haggin Oaks & his future status as a PGA Teaching Professional.
