The First Tee of Greater Sacramento’s Sacramento Golf Hall of Fame Inducts Five

badge_the-first-teeOn April 30, 2016, at 3:00PM, The First Tee of Greater Sacramento will hold the Sacramento Golf Hall of Fame & Junior Commendation Ceremony at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. This Ceremony will include interviews and profiles of the 2016 Sacramento Golf Hall of Fame Class and a commendation of all The First Tee of Greater Sacramento high school seniors that have been active participants in The First Tee.

The First Tee of Greater Sacramento Golf Hall of Fame recognizes those individuals that have had an everlasting impact on the landscape of golf in and around Sacramento. Tour players, club professionals, media personnel, great amateur players and volunteers make up this unique list. Former inductees include Bob Eastwood, Al Geiberger, Scott McCarron, Kevin Sutherland, Natalie Gulbis and over two dozen more.|

Put a golf club in a young person’s hand and watch them grow. Instilling values like confidence, judgment and respect, values they learn from golf, but take with them for the rest of their lives. The First Tee of Greater Sacramento is reaching over 18,000 local area young people annually through programs on the course and in elementary schools. The First Tee of Greater Sacramento is one of The First Tee’s largest chapters and a leader in the field of programs for teens and those with disabilities. The chapter has 15 program locations in the region, and supports children as young as 3 until they reach college.

The First Tee of Greater Sacramento’s mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.  With more than 30 years of history, the chapter has touched the lives of countless young people in the Sacramento area, instilling The First Tee Nine Core Values™ (Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy and Judgment) and The First Tee Nine Healthy Habits™ (Energy, Play, Safety, Vision, Mind, Family, Friends, School, and Community).

At The First Tee of Greater Sacramento, we work with experts in a variety of fields to deliver junior golf programs that are proven to have a positive influence on kids and teens. Each lesson is designed to be fun, interactive and engaging. Our coaches follow a philosophy centered on positively reinforcing your child’s actions and ensuring a great experience.
The First Tee of Greater Sacramento coaches seamlessly weave golf and character building activities into each lesson. As young people progresses through The First Tee’s programs, the activities and life lessons become more involved, helping young people build character and become even more equipped to make good choices on and off the golf course.
