The First Tee of Greater Sacramento presents the 21st Annual Sacramento Jr/Sr Championship supporting Youth Life Skills Education on Friday, June 22, 2012 on the Alister MacKenzie Golf Course at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex.
The First Tee of Greater Sacramento is a non-profit organization that touches over 6,000 kids annually. Their mission is:
To improve the lives of young people in the greater Sacramento area by strengthening character and teaching life enhancing values through the game of golf.
TFTGS’ Youth Life Skills Education includes goal setting, building a go to team, staying well for life, dealing with challenges, being a go to person, and planning for the future. The core values that TFTGS instill include Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Courtesy, Judgement, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, Confidence and Perseverance.
All proceeds from this event will to to support The First Tee of Greater Sacramento’s Youth Life Skill Education in the many programs that are offered, including Jr golf camps, clubs, a competitive junior golf tour, special needs programs, and many outreach programs to groups in our community.
In addition, The First Tee of Greater Sacramento annually awards college scholarships to graduating seniors and presents the awards to recipients at the Sacramento Jr/Sr Championship.
