Jane Siebers, Marketing and Events Coordinator for the Morton Golf Foundation, shares a heartwarming story of a boy, a lion and a lot of courage this holiday season.
On Sunday, Dec. 7th I was lucky enough to be invited to a Christmas party that âAngels for Heartsâ a non-profit that Morton Golf Foundation supports was putting on at California Pizza Kitchen. I thought I was going for the pizza but knew I was getting excited about seeing the kids that I had met last spring at the âAngels for Heartsâ golf clinics.
I had the honor of meeting Zebediah and Malachi Wells. These are 2 brothers that were born with a heart condition.
Their mom, Cherish was telling me a story at the party that Make-A-Wish had recently sent their family back to Florida to have âfunâ at Disney World. While they were there they purchased a head cover for Zebediah, age 5 to put on his new NIKE clubs that were given to him this past year at the âAngels for Heartsâ golf seminars. His Mom also told me that Zebediah really likes lions because they stand for courage. She said, âwouldnât it be great if Zebediah could get a lion head coverâ? Immediately I knew some way somehow I was going to make this happen. I went into our Haggin Oaks Golf Super Store and there the lion head cover was on our display. I set up an appointment for Zebediah, his brother Malachi and his Mom Cherish to come to Haggin Oaks to receive the lion of âcourageâ.
The smile on Zebediah’s face says it all. He is enjoying his new NIKE clubs while his lion of “courage” looks on!
A special “thank you” to Jane Siebers for sharing this wonderful story with us today.
