Local Non-Profit Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary At Haggin Oaks
Angels for Hearts, a local non-profit giving back to heart families with children born with heart defects celebrates their 10th year Anniversary at Haggin Oaks on Saturday, June 10th. Their mission is to bring normalcy to pediatric heart patients ages newborn to age 18 both in and out of the hospital. They remind heart kids that first and foremost they are kids first before being heart patients. They accomplish this in many ways and one way is through the game of golf.
How It Started
Angels for Hearts is rooted in the inspiring story of its founder, Kimberly Kaufman. Kimberly Kaufman is a Sacramento native diagnosed with congestive heart failure at the young age of 30. Through her experiences in the hospital meeting pediatric heart patients and their families, Kim realized she was in a unique position to help. With her parents, Curtis and Patti Kaufman, Kimberly founded Angels for Hearts in 2008. If you want to read Kimberly’s full story check out this article on the Angels for Hearts Website.
