Sacramento Women’s Golf Club Wins Qualifying Tournament

The Sacramento Women’s Golf Club Qualifies for Championship at Poppy Ridge in September by Winning Qualifier

The Sacramento Women’s Golf Club competed in an NCGA qualifying tournament on July 17th and put on an impressive performance. The Sacramento Women’s Golf Club came out on top in a dominant tournament victory, earning them a spot in the September championship.

The tournament was a one-day event hosted at Cherry Island that saw 23 women’s golf teams come to compete. The top eight teams would qualify and move on to compete in the PWGA Legacy Tema Play Championship in September. The Sacramento Women’s Golf Club didn’t want to simply qualify, they wanted to win. The score needed to qualify was 7 under and the Sacramento Women’s Golf Club scored a total of 17 under, earning them a dominant victory and a spot in the September championship.

The Championship will take place from September 11th to September 12th at Poppy Ridge Golf Course. The tournament will include 32 teams, all of which had to qualify through their respective local qualifiers.

The Sacramento Women’s Golf Club was founded in 1932 and is still going strong. The SWGC is open to women of all handicaps and practices year-round on the Alister MacKenzie 18 Hole Course. Haggin Oaks wishes the Sacramento Women’s Golf Team luck as they go to compete in this prestigious event!
